Description

Billionaire Sutton Mayfair has nothing left to lose... My best friend is getting married to the woman I love. They say the nice guy finishes last. So what's the point of being a goddamn gentleman? Maybe I should take what I want. Even that sexy little thing on the street corner. She needs a hot meal and a place to sleep. Instead I'm taking her home to soothe the savage beast inside me. I was born a bastard, and for the first time in my life I act like one. Except the more I use her, the more I need her. I didn't know I had someone left to lose. But for a single heartbeat, I had her. * * * * * * "DEAR GOD. THIS BOOK, GUYS!!! OMG. I’m in love with Sutton. The first time I read the book I was a little disappointed that Sutton didn’t immediately find his happy ever after. But, the more I read it, the more I love it. Christopher & Harpers story is sooo good but Sutton is by far my favorite character. I wish this book was a little longer but it’s still great. Highly recommend this series.

When Sutton sees Ashleigh he decides he needs to help her but falls victim to her charms. Both characters are beautifully flawed. A great dark romance. Both grow and heal through the book. A great spicy read. The Tanglewood universe is a great world of dark romance. Even though the themes are dark, the story still has points of brightness and healing. A wonderful read!

Ugh... Heavy buildup and then ends in less than one chapter.
  • I fell in love with Sutton and Ashleigh and so will you!

I dived right into this MASTERPIECE without having read the Trust Fund Duet to get a background on Sutton Mayfair. I went into this book blind, not knowing the author’s writing style or the character’s past and could not have had a better experience. Following the engagement of Christopher and Harper, Sutton spirals down, drowning himself in alcohol, pity, and heartache. He puts on a facade so that his troubles are masked from outsiders and keeps all the hurt pent up inside. Ashleigh sees past his guard, helping him in his vulnerable moments and making Sutton feel things he never thought he’d feel for another person. Ashleigh has gone through a traumatic experience that has left her on the streets selling her body for survival. There is so much sympathy that I felt for her because she is an incredible soul trying to live to see the next day. With the help of her friend Ky, she is learning the ropes to making money and how to handle herself while working, but nothing could prepare her for Sutton Mayfair. Sutton and Ashleigh’s relationship is truly heart-wrenching and beautiful: Sky Warren could not have written a better match for Sutton. They’ve had bad experiences that have left them untrusting and broken, but equally aid each other in overcoming and healing. There is love, loss, longing, healing and freeing in Mating Theory that makes Sutton and Ashleigh’s story so beautifully unique.

I devoured this!! But that’s because I loved Sutton in Harper’s story and were ultimately rooting for him. A quick intense read, though the ending felt a little rushed. Like it kind of just skipped ahead. I still enjoyed it, although not too sure I would buy it with this price if you aren’t utterly consumed by Sutton like I were in the previous story, because of the short length. Good for a quick read if that’s what you’re looking for.
  • I was hooked on this mating theory!

I couldn’t wait to read Sutton’s story since reading about him in the Trust Fund duet (you can read this as a standalone), and I was hooked from the beginning. In beginning of this book, we meet Sutton at his lowest point and broken hearted, and my heart broke for him. During this time, he meets Ashleigh who was also at her lowest point doing what she had to do to survive. I admired her for her strength and felt for her too. As they spent time together, they forged a deeper bond that was more than physical and begin to need each other. So can two people who find comfort in each other in a time of need also find love? Read this book in one sitting, get hooked like I did and find out! *I received an advanced copy of this ebook for my honest review.*

I give it 5++++ stars. I’m slightly obsessed with down on their luck women... And the men who find them, love them, try to save them. This book was greatttttt. It involves Sutton. Who we know from Survival of the richest. And Ashleigh. A new character for us. I love the interaction between them. I love her scars. I love his damage. I love how they fit so very nicely. Highly recommend!
  • She may not have a lick of self-preservation, but she has pride.

Mating Theory is essentially the closure that anyone who read The Trust Fund duet needed. Yes, SuttButt gets his own story and a complex version of a HEA here. He hits his rock bottom when the two people he loves, are in love without him. Sure he’s welcome to get a taste of that love, but he knows that won’t ever be enough. Luckily, he finds what he doesn’t know he needs with a heroine who is at her lowest. Mating Theory is very rags to riches modern fairytale. The heroine, Ashleigh, is reluctant to get comfortable with Sutton at first, because she knows that life isn’t a fairytale. She’s a teenage prostitute who lives in a rundown sugar factory, why would the devastatingly handsome and rich Sutton Mayfair want her for more than a rough roll in the sheets? Plus, he’s broken and in love with two other people. Sometimes two people just click together. Even if there isn’t a long lengthy story binding them, you can tell that their characters are written in a way that they effortlessly blend together. Duh, that’s what the author intends, BUT it’s harder to make love believable when it moves quickly and this author made me believe in SuttonAshleigh. Sutton falls in love easily when he’s met a match, and Ashleigh reluctantly believes in that prince “sort of” charming, so they make perfect sense. Skye Warren really bleeds these two characters souls onto the pages, and it’s hard not to feel and root for them. The writing is incredible. The relationship does move fast once it starts. There is an age gap. I will note that the reason I didn’t give this a full 5 stars is because much of this story felt like Sutton getting over Harper & Christopher, which makes sense because that’s his current state, BUT I just wanted a bit more for him and Ashleigh. Their love blossoms quickly and much of it is off page. That being said I still loved their story and their mating theory.
  • A wonderful romantic tale

Sutton Mayfair met Ashleigh one night when his world was crumpling around him. The next time they bumped into each other Sutton decides to help her. Living and working on the streets of Tanglewood is the life Ashleigh has. That is until Sutton sees her again. He wants to forget and she wants...well what does she want? Can these two troubled souls bring each other the peace their looking for? Oh, how I enjoyed this fast paced read. This reminded me a little of a certain “working girl meets wealthy man” movie and I loved every second! Sutton and Ashleigh we perfect together! Told in dual POV
