Shadowhunters and demons square off for the final showdown in the spellbinding, seductive conclusion to the #1 New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series—now with a gorgeous new cover, a map, a new foreword, and exclusive bonus content! City of Heavenly Fire is a Shadowhunters novel.

Darkness has descended on the Shadowhunter world. Chaos and destruction overwhelm the Nephilim as Clary, Jace, Simon, and their friends band together to fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary’s own brother. Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell. Nothing in this world can defeat Sebastian—but if they journey to the realm of demons, they just might have a chance…

Lives will be lost, love sacrificed, and the whole world will change. Who will survive the explosive sixth and final installment of the Mortal Instruments series?

Having read all the other Shadowhunter books, I was gratified finally to read this one that I somehow missed along the way. It filled in many missing incidents mentioned in other books but not fully described. I may reread it again to absorb the details, as I have with the other books

Once again when facing terrible scene they all just freeze and stare. Maybe a second but that’s all. Like the beginning at LAI 10 year old 8 year old and baby just stop and watch that most terrible scene. If not screaming they would be running. Need more realistic instincts.

I read this series when I was clary’s age and found myself rereading it again. The thing about fairytales is they are all true, they tell stories of hero’s and how even the most ordinary person (Simon) can be a hero too. The mortal instruments will forever hold a special spot in my heart. How I wish to hear stories of what Clary and Jaces life is like, as adults.

I LOVE this whole series. The characters are well developed and go through emotional transformation throughout the story. I honestly can’t find one thing wrong with it. The ending was amazing. This is the perfect finale to The Mortal Instruments. I think this series is the best one in the SHADOWHUNTERS universe, and I can’t wait to see what Cassandra Clare writes next.
