Description

Maisy Farley, a Georgia peach transplanted to Pittsburgh, has won the hearts of her audience as their favorite hometown news anchor for seven years running. Then she dared to report the truth about the influential and eccentric billionaire who bought the TV station where she’s worked for over a decade. Now, she’s out of a job but sitting on a pile of money thanks to the golden parachute in her contract. It’s the perfect time to follow her dream of being an independent investigative reporter.

But Maisy’s plans are falling apart. The station’s delaying her payout, and her savings are dwindling fast. Worse yet, she can’t seem to land her first story. Then she encounters the ex-wife of Landon Lewis, a brilliant but troubled tech genius who jumped to his death.

His still-reeling ex-wife insists he was pushed: Why would he kill himself when he was on the cusp of receiving a one-hundred-million-dollar windfall? Maisy has no idea, but she knows one thing: she’s just found her story. All she has to do is follow the money—and stay alive long enough to break the story.

Longtime readers of the Sasha McCandless legal thrillers have known Maisy for years. Now, Sasha's irrepressible friend takes center stage in a mystery of her own. Steeltown Magnolia will both delight Sasha fans and serve as the perfect chance for new readers to dive into the interconnected world of Melissa F. Miller’s mysteries and thrillers.

Once again, Ms Miller has done it. Right from the start, she grabs your attention and hooks you in to her story, her characters and the mystery of figuring out what happened to Landon Lewis. Maisy is such a fun, spitfire of Southern charm. Her natural curious nature lends her the perfect skill set to get herself in and out of trouble all while getting to the bottom of this mystery. As Maisy and Jordana continued uncovering clues, I was right there with their podcast subscribers anxiously awaiting the story and conclusion. At times, I would hold my breath and internally scream at Maisy to be smart and be careful as well as cheer at her findings and her team’s brilliance and tenacity. Ultimately, I found myself torn between wanting to devour this novel and forcing myself to put it down so I could savor it…only to pick it right back up again because I couldn’t stand the wait to the conclusion. This is such a great read but may lead to a sleepless night if you are like me and can’t wait to finish it. I was provided an eArc of this novel.

Maisy the wonder of snow and living in Pittsburg she was still loving it. She was a journalist, with the southern charm and wit , while getting the true facts. A payout she was to receive was being delayed, could she do a podcast , it would be less start up costs, an a younger crowd. .A juicy story is what is needed. A chance meeting, the person telling her it was murder, not suicide. Time to get the true facts and stay alive while doing the story. Enjoyable, readers will love .Maisy and the good flowing plot. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
