The Gypsy people are an ethnic group with origins in South Asia. Now officially called the Romani people are a widely dispersed ethnic group, with the largest concentrated populations in Europe, especially Romania and other Eastern European countries. Worldwide there is an estimated population of at least 15 million Roma or Gypsy.
