After a summer spent trying to prevent a catastrophic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly quiet. Author creates a fun adventure with new characters that make Percy’s journey even more engaging. References to Greek mythology continue to be creative and entertaining! Some parts can be silly, especially the fighting scene with Luke toward the end. Descriptions of Tyson could be considered offensive to some. I look forward to continuing the series.

Tyson was adorable I just don’t want to remember that he’s a Cyclopes with one eye in his head. And the end oh my god the punk girl is just crazy!!!

4.0 All while expanding the lore of his modern Greek god world, Rick zeroes in on Percy and Annabeth. By fleshing out their character, he allows them to not only shine but most importantly connect with the reader in unique ways

I just recently became obsessed with these books, and Sea Of Monsters is probably my favorite Percy Jackson book. First off, Tyson! He is my new favorite Percy Jackson character, and he is just so funny. While it is sad that Grover, (my previous favorite character) isn’t really in the book, I still like the little visions (if you’ve read the book you know). Luke is an okay villain, and I would love to see where his character goes. So, overall, incredible book, I will be reading the next one soon!
