Description

February the fifteenth is a very special day for me. It is the day I gave birth to my first child. It is also the day my husband left me...I can only assume the two events weren't entirely unrelated.

Claire has everything she ever wanted: a husband she adores, a great apartment, a good job. Then, on the day she gives birth to their first baby, James informs her that he's leaving her. Claire is left with a newborn daughter, a broken heart, and a postpartum body that she can hardly bear to look at.

She decides to go home to Dublin. And there, sheltered by the love of a quirky family, she gets better. So much so, in fact, that when James slithers back into her life, he's in for a bit of a surprise.

My first Marian Keyes book and it started out great. But even though I like to get my money's worth on a book and have more pages to read, this book was far too long. Great character development, but certain parts could have been dealt with in 20 pages, not 100. Got bored.

It has been a few years since i've read a Marian Keyes book. Even though this was one of her first books I never got around to reading it before. I am a Marian Keyes fan and this book didn't disappoint. This is the first book I downloaded from iBooks and I loved it! I love the way she develops her characters and I was in stitches with some of Claire's descriptions. I can totally relate to her way of thinking in certain situations. A great read and a great laugh. Once you read one her books you'll definitely go back for more. Last chance saloon is another favorite of mine.
