“If you loved The Martian, you’ll go crazy for Weir’s latest.”—The Washington Post

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission—and if he fails, humanity and the earth itself will perish.

Except that right now, he doesn’t know that. He can’t even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it.

All he knows is that he’s been asleep for a very, very long time. And he’s just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, Ryland realizes that an impossible task now confronts him. Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it’s up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery—and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species.

And with the clock ticking down and the nearest human being light-years away, he’s got to do it all alone.

Or does he?

An irresistible interstellar adventure as only Andy Weir could deliver, Project Hail Mary is a tale of discovery, speculation, and survival to rival The Martian—while taking us to places it never dreamed of going.

This book reads like a movie. Although it won Audiobook of the year, I’d say the written form does it justice.

This book was probably one of the most well, thought out, and scientifically sound books I’ve ever read. Takes sci-fi to whole new level. Andy Weir walks you through EVERYTHING. The storytelling is amazing. Every chapter you read you’re asking more questions and you just can’t stop reading. Definitely will read this again at some point.

Maybe the best Science Fiction book I’ve read ever. I couldn’t wait to pick it back up every time. If they make a movie out of this it will be amazing.

This book was so good in all aspects! No matter when and where I picked back up, I always felt engaged in what was going on. And even though science was never my strong suit in school, the writing always made everything make sense with overcomplicating the story. And the ending was so heartwarming. A truly perfect ending for all the hard work of both Rocky and Grace!
  • LOVED this book, recommended it to my brother, he loves it too!

A masterfully constructed yarn that is exceedingly thorough and seamless in it’s logic and construction. I consider this to be a true masterpiece of SciFi writing. Very well done, Mr Weir, very well done!

I’ve been hooked on Andy Weir since The Martian, and I knew this book wouldn’t disappoint. Andy strikes the perfect balance of science-fiction and scientific accuracy to tell incredible stories. I’ve never audibly chuckled while reading a book, smiled to myself while reading a book, or even genuinely teared up while reading a book until Project Hail Mary. Incredible from start to finish.
