This story is a crossover with the Wishful series.

    I really enjoy all the Wishful books. I fall right into then every time. I love how all of the books can all be read as stand alone novels, but they are all better when you read the series. Even in this short book, the characters are well defined. Kait is able to describe the characters in an active way without a ton words and exposition. I want to be a part of Wishful!     ARC for honest review with no compensation received from BookSprout 4.5 stars Once Upon a Rescue is book 8 in the Wishful Meet Cute romance by Kait Nolan. Love seeing old friends from the town of Wishful and finding new friends too! When an unusual winter snow storm blows into Wishful, Mississippi, Brooke needs to find temporary homes for the rescue animals in the shelter she runs but isn’t having much luck. Until Hayden comes to the rescue...he has a crush on Brooke and will do what needs to be done to help the rescue shelter and get closer “hopefully” to Brooke. Rescue animals, newborn puppies, a big barn, being stranded are just a few of the things happening in this short, sweet read!

    I really enjoyed this short story. The story was very indicative of the way snow is received in the south, or even just impending snow. Lol. I have read several books from the Wishful series and have loved them all. This is a great story if you are looking for a great short read.

  • Romance and puppies

    I love the premise of a “meet cute” - something that can fill in over a lunch hour or a wait at the doctor’s office - and one that offers adorable animals is a huge plus! And set in Wishful is just an added bonus. The fact that the hero has had a longtime crush and seemed to need the weather “assist” to get to his HEA, just makes it that much better in my eyes.   • Warm sweet meet cute!

    It was a quick sweet read !! Didn’t know what to think before I started because neither were characters from Kait Nolan’s previous books, but I was hooked on from the first sassy comment by Brooke. Hayden is such a nice guy and this meet cute was definitely the warm gooey one that I needed to read trying to relax from a hectic week. Kait’s done it again!     Once upon a rescue is a feel good story. Hayden Garrow is the total package. This was a quick read and just what I needed after a hard day at work. Kait always is able to wisp me away into an romantic escape that making you invested in her characters. I look forward in seeing Hayden and Brooke in other tales from the town of wishful.   • A Great Meet Cute: Hayden and Brook

    This was a sweet story of Hayden and Brooke, who knew each other in junior high and were reunited on a snowy night years later. Hayden has always liked Brooke, but she didn’t remember him. When Brooke needs help, Hayden doesn’t hesitate to rescue her, and Brooke decides she may need to end her man diet. I really enjoyed this book and I wanted to continue reading their story!     Brooke is so busy taking care of the animals at the animal shelter that she doesn’t notice Hayden. Hayden has had a crush on Brooke since childhood. In order to see her more frequently he “accidentally” cuts bags of dog food open where they can’t be sold, which allows them to be donated to the shelter. A freak winter storm hits Mississippi and throws Brooke and Hayden together to find a solution to keep the shelter animals safe. Another sweet romance story from Kait Nolan.     Who can resist snow and puppies? I love these two new Wishful characters. As a dog lover, I could totally relate to wanting to keep all the rescues warm! I love how this Meet Cute is just sweet and heartwarming. The ending was pretty great! This one is just a taste of the Wishful series. Read them all!   • Meet-cute (again) romance

    Brooke and Hayden are such an adorable meet-cute romance. This book was a quick and fun read, everything it should be. The characters had depth and emotion while still keeping it just a short snapshot in their newly budding relationship. I love the ‘extras’ used throughout the book, the human (past characters) and canine versions (especially Tiny Tim). I honestly felt the chemistry between the two main characters and I felt they almost kept the barn warm with that alone, who needs space heaters and thermal sleeping bags anyways! Read this book if you are hoping to spark a little romance in your life, maybe you too can find your match as well.
