Description

In the sixties era of black nationalism, political abductions, and epidemic police corruption, Easy’s latest case will pull him—unremittingly and inevitably—into the darkest underbelly of Los Angeles.

Rosemary Goldsmith, the daughter of a weapons manufacturer, has been kidnapped by a black revolutionary cell called Scorched Earth. Their leader, Uhuru NolicĂ©, is holding her for ransom and if he doesn’t receive the money, weapons, and apology he demands, “Rose Gold” will die—horribly and publicly. So the authorities turn to Easy Rawlins, the one man who can cross the necessary lines to resolve this dangerous standoff and find Rose Gold before it’s too late.

I have read every one of Mr. Mosley's Easy Rawlins mysteries. I enjoyed this one as much as all of the previous ones. My one complaint with this one as with the others is that they end. I hope he is working on the next one and hope he never kills Easy or Mouse off permanently!!

It's good to see Easy back on the case. This was a good read with a lot of moving parts.

Just when you think the Easy Rawlins series can't possibly get any better Mosely comes back with the BIG BANG BANG! This latest novel from the prolific Walter Mosely gives you the familiar blend of action, philosophical insight, and story as seen through the critical lens of Easy Rawlins, Mosely's now 50-something year old protagonist private detective. This tale opens with Easy ruminating about physical and metaphysical "Moving Days," as he prepares to move into a new house with his adopted daughter, Feather. With classic Moselyian deft, you are taken from Easy's easy rumination on "Moving Days," and are moved through this dynamic and dynamite tale of late 1960"s action and drama in LA. New and old comrades come together in this suspenseful novel, and Walter Mosely is at his finest in every way. From Rose Gold: “I plunked down on the packed sand and started rereading, for the sixth or seventh time, The Grapes of Wrath. “Readin’ good books is like meetin’ a girl you wanna get to know bettah,” Jackson Blue once told me...Same thing with a good book. You got to read that suckah again and again and still you findin’ out sumpin’ new every time.” I will certainly be reading Rose Gold again and again and again. Be good to yourself and download this book. It felt like my birthday! cmama
