Description

Practical Pediatric Imaging is a compilation of ALL SEVEN eBOOKS in The Practical Imaging Series.

Practical Pediatric Imaging was written to be assessable to trainees in Diagnostic Radiology, yet applicable even to practicing radiologists.  Although a baseline understanding of medical imaging is assumed, these ebooks keep jargon to a minimum so as to be useful to ALL clinicians seeking an approachable primer on the topic.

Practical Pediatric Imaging has wide appeal because it offers an organized framework to learn radiology by focusing on a practical approach and providing the reader with:

A practical approach to imaging pediatric diseases.
A reasonable differential diagnosis based on imaging findings and clinical data.
Exquisite illustrations, including all modern imaging modalities, elegant schematics, intraoperative & clinical photographs, and pathologic correlation.
Detailed “how-to” movies and videos to explain procedures unique to the field of pediatric radiology.

I love this iBook! I am a practicing pediatric radiologist currently studying for the subspecialty board ("CAQ") and am so happy I found this gem. I agree with all the other five-star reviews and want to make it clear to pediatric radiology residents and pediatric radiologists: it is so worth the price tag.
  • Fantastic images and cine clips

Finally, a textbook, or rather, an e-Book providing exceptional image quality. Dr. Baskin's collection of cine cases and e-images far surpass what you see in traditional static radiology textbooks.
  • If only I had this resource when I first learned this material

This format is outstanding for learning this subject matter. As a visual learner, I've always struggled with textbook descriptions of anatomic/embryologic processes. Thus I had to devote hours to pediatric radiology that today I'm sure I could have forgone if only this resource existed. I highly recommend this series if you are first learning this material or if you are like me, in a private practice with significant pediatric exposure and a strong interest in the material.

The Practical Pediatric Imaging iBooks series is a concise, richly illustrated reference of value to radiology residents and practicing radiologists, as well as other physicians caring for children. I have found the interactive illustrations, videos, and pathological correlation to be of great educational benefit.
  • Comprehensive pediatric radiology reference

Phenomenal overview of pediatric radiology. High (highest) quality images and videos, tons of examples, and a unique perspective on many topics. I’m reading this as a resident, but imagine it would be accessible to pediatrics residents, and of course pediatric radiology fellows. This clearly required a huge amount of effort and experience, and is a great learning tool.

"This is EXACTLY where radiology books should be going: interactive, lots of movies, great images. Unlike other junk I have downloaded, this totally takes advantage of the ipad. Seems like everything else out there is just a PDF scanned in to look like a new product. Kudos to this guy. Now we need one for each section of radiology, not just peds!"

This informative text has several advantages over all those worn textbooks sitting in our reading rooms: it is always available, easily searchable, and doesn't get borrowed by another radiologist or another department. If you can find another pediatric radiology e-text with as many illustrative images and explanatory points, you should probably buy that one. But you won't.
  • Excellent ebook!

Taking a leap forward in teaching materials, this is a superb, up-to-date, presentation of pediatric radiology. Utilizing the potential of the medium Dr Baskin has given us a great learning tool with excellent text, still images, movie clips, and interactive with hyperlinks, tables, and the option for self-assessment. This is truly setting the standard for e-textbooks.
