Andrew Matheson worked for many years as an apicultural consultant and lecturer, and was for five years director of the International Bee Research Association in the UK, the world’s leading information service for bee science and beekeeping. He has written widely on beekeeping and related topics in a range of books and periodicals, and was the sole author of the first three editions of this book. Murray Reid has also advised, lectured and written widely on apiculture. He is currently apicultural services coordinator for AsureQuality Ltd, a New Zealand government-owned company providing food safety and biosecurity services to the food and primary production sectors.
