Description

Feed is an electrifying and critically acclaimed novel of a world a half-step from our own that the New York Times calls “Astonishing” — a novel of zombies, geeks, politics, social media, and the virus that runs through them all — from New York Times bestseller Mira Grant.

The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.

Now, twenty years after the Rising, Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives—the dark conspiracy behind the infected. The truth will out, even if it kills them.

Reviews

  • Not your typical zombie story

Definitely not the typical zombie story, if you’re looking for a Walking Dead comic or George Romero style read this is not the book for you (mostly). It delves into some deep topics on society and how we deal with disease (both physically and politically) while providing a really unique viewpoint on that world. Very well written, stimulating and visual in all the right ways! I loved it.

Can I have my money back please? 1% about zombies, 99% about bloggers. Seriously...who cares about bloggers. Dull in the extreme.

When deciding to get this book I was torn between this series and the parisitology series. In the end I chose Feed because it was complete. I literally read the book in a little over 24 hours. From the start I was hooked. I loved Georgia, she amused me, and her relationship with Shaun was perfect. This wasn't the typical zombie book, and I was ok with that. I have always loved zombies but this was a refreshing take on what could happen. I loved that there was still a society, and looking into the campaign trail drew me in. The characters were well written and I found myself liking the majority of them. Now I am sitting here debating how badly I need sleep or if I should just tough it out and move onto book two....

This was probably one of the best books I've read in a long, long while. I got it because I was out of reading material and started to read it and was instantly hooked. The narration is great, and the author really gets you invested in the main characters. I'm not gonna spoil the ending, but suffice it to say I honestly didn't see it coming. Definitely a must read.

I liked this book enough to read the two books that follow in this trilogy. Fast paced with lots of zombie fun!
  • Terrible read too much down time

When an author bore you with one story it's hard for you to buy anything else that he or she may produce in the future. This book had too much downtime hardly any action. If you are tired before you start, you'll be asleep before you make any progress. If you are an action kind of person, you'll hate this.

    Really enjoyed it.
  • A Tale for the age

Topical, internally consistent, and very real. Like other exploratory fiction, the fantastic is a backdrop for social discussion and human story. There are some gut-wrenchers too. Succeeds in and out of genre.

Probably one of my favorite zombie series. Definitely worth the read. The author is also pretty awesome and responded to several emails I sent her.
