This was one of the best Clive Cussler books I have read. And, I have read many. Full of suspense, action, and an intriguing story line. It was hard to put it down. Great read!
  • Pretty good, for my first Dirk Pitt book!

When he's not being pedantic, sycophantic, or arrogant enough to, literally, write himself into his own fiction, Cussler's prose is engaging, and enchanting! I suspect I'll soon search for more tales of Pitt's adventures.

Seriously, what is the deal with this book? It's scientifically inaccurate in many places and it took about twenty pages to describe a man jumping from a plane. The author isn't very skilled either, I wouldn't get this book if it was free. Don't waste your money.
  • Another great Dirk Pitt story!

I like how he keeps me on the edge of the bed reading.

Cushier has a great imagination but is a terrible writer. Insipid dialogue loaded with cliches. His first few books were pretty good especially raise the titanic. But lately he's become almost unreadable.

It's alright and can keep you reading if just out of curiosity. The research is a little thin and the dialogue seemed immature. Still, irritating as the writing style is, the story is fun enough to keep one reading. Then flaws can be overlooked taken by themselves, but together, and along with the author's asinine insistence on including himself as a character in his stories, this will be last of his books that I will read.
