Grief is tough to process but it was gratifying to watch Savannah work through her loss of husband to a renewed connection to Christmas with the help of two adorable children and Quinn, a fellow just passing through with no roots except brothers he barely knew existed. All worked out for a happy holiday season after some serious self reflection of values and a sense of roots from belonging to a family. Good read.

Lovely, heartwarming story of two endearing characters with sadness in their pasts and uncertainty in their futures. Savannah is dealing with loss and grief and while she just wants to hide from the world and especially Christmas, she is watching her nieces while their parents are deployed. Savannah loves her nieces and in fact they help distract her a bit from her grief. Unfortunately, Christmas is hard for her and she isn't planning to celebrate in any traditional way. Along comes Quinn who due to unforeseen circumstances finds himself a temporary ranch hand while he is in town waiting for his truck to be repaired. While Quinn didn't have an easy upbringing, he had a mom who loved him unconditionally. When Quinn meets Savannah and her nieces, he decides to help them have a Christmas to remember. Despite Savannah being opposed, Quinn will show her there is more to life than her grief. I enjoyed this book very much and thought it was a wonderful novel to read during the holiday season. I haven't yet read the previous books in this series but I definitely am looking forward to it. This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
