Another fantastic novel from Diana Gabaldon featuring my favorite characters! I only hope the wait for the next in the series won’t be too long… till then, I will keep rewatching and rereading whenever I feel the need for more James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser!

True, it reads a bit slower than the previous books but I still found it very enjoyable. Don’t let the negative reviews dissuade you. If you’re a fan of the characters and love to escape into their world, you’ll enjoy this one too!
Hardest of all Outlander novels to read.

Struggled to read this one compared to the rest. So much description with not much action. Not how I normally like. Usually I love the descriptions but felt this was like treading water. Still a must for Outlander readers.

Read all of the Outlander series and I found this one to be boring. Plodded thru it.
Terrible Writer - Very Overrated

Ms. Gabaldon is an awful writer. She started out okay, but things started to devolve with Fiery Cross, and spiraled down from there. Long, drawn out explanations make you say, “blah, blah, blah, get on with it!” Characters are interesting and you care about them, with the exception of Claire. She’s a woman from the 60’s. When would she ever say, forsooth? Did she suddenly become a Shakespearean actor? Just a couple examples of my disappointment. During press junkets, it’s apparent Ms. Gabaldon is very high on herself. Did she start out humble, and grateful for the fans who made her rich? She sure isn’t any longer and she talks with a holier than thou tone. My opinions, of course. And I’ll read through the last book to conclusion because I am involved with most of the characters but as for the writing itself, very disappointing.
Super boring. Nothing like the previous books in the series.

I was looking forward to reading this but the plot was so boring it took me months to finally finish. When the plot starts to get more interesting, the book suddenly ends. I would give it 0 stars.

Brilliance again. Is there anyone as compelling as Diana Gabaldon. I can’t wait for the next one!
This book has something missing.

I loved reading about all the characters i have loved over the years. However the first half of the book felt too much a like a recap. Frankly I started questioning who wrote the book and whether or not it was the actual author or someone standing in for her. When a story was finally starting to form, the book ended. Compared to the rest of the books in the series, this one was a disappointment and a dud. 2 stars bc I love the series otherwise i never would have finished it. Let alone bothered with a review.
Beautifully written!

This is another daily life book. Which is not the most interesting.
