The story of sleepy beauty but re-written to center consent and gentleness as most important, and with nuances most re-written fairytales fail to capture, that two wrongs don’t make a right and that some “evil” isn’t evil at all, but retribution for evil

I really enjoyed this book. I normally don’t write reviews but I want to for this one. I’ve been a victim of abuse and was almost sold into trafficking but I fought and was able to escape. I’ve overcame a lot and the author is very sensitive and writes something encouraging that the main character says that made me cry because how much is touched me. I love the message the story sends and finding your strength. I really love this series and especially this book. Gave me hope and I hope others enjoy this book as well.

I accidentally fell upon her books. I can say without a shadow of a doubt she is the best author. She keeps me on my toes and I have a hard time putting her books down. I can’t wait to read all her books. I tell all my friends and my kids also about these books. I would pay any amount of money for them. Please keep writing your books!!!

Chanda really is the queen of retelling fairytales. Once again she has knocked it out of the park. I can’t wait to read more stories from her!

I have been eagerly anticipating this novel since the last book finished Of Sea and Song. In these trying times it is so important to find great books to read and lift our spirits. Chanda Hahn did not disappoint! I really love her writing style and she always keeps me guessing! I cannot recommend this book series enough! I cannot wait for her next one Of Myst and Murder! The way she retells these stories are so interesting and I could not put this one down until I had finished it! You definitely won’t be disappointed when you start reading any of her books!

I have been excited to read Aura's story since we first met her. She has been an interesting character given that she is an empath, a unique power you often do not come across. She is also more timid than her other sisters, so being able to see her develop throughout the series has been great. And while the familiar tale of Sleeping Beauty is the backdrop of the story, Aura is able to shine in her own right. There were plenty of imporant issues addressed and awe-inspiring moments. Additionally, I enjoyed reading about Liam's character. As a supporting character he added much to the story and Aura's growth. Loved this!

The latest Daughter of Eville is a thrilling twisted take on the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty. I keep thinking I won’t like the new tale as much as the previous one, but Chanda Hahn always proves me wrong. Aura is a character you can fall in love with and is the daughter that at first appears to be the weakest. Her ability often causes her great pain and distress and has a reputation of driving those who posses it mad. Aura is on the brink many times in this story and does not realize how strong she is until she has nothing left. Her tale is heart breaking and a fascinating read. Aura is swept away on an adventure she didn’t sign up for loaded with unexpected twists and turns that keep the reader on the edge of their seat wanting to devour the book in one sitting. I appreciate that this book touches on subject matter that can be difficult to talk about. The story revolves around a character on the brink of madness and Aura has to find a balance between shutting herself off from the world and diving headfirst into her raw, ugly, and tragic emotions. Mental health issues are not to be taken lightly and this tale handles them well and in a respectful way. The tale also touches on sex trafficking, abuse of power, and how people feel helpless and hopeless. The last thing I would like to mention is the letter from the author. I teared up multiple times during this book but the letter to her readers made me cry. As a mental health professional, I greatly appreciate her acknowledging difficult subject matters and how much of an issue they currently are in our society. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a twist on a wonderful classic story.

All hail Queen Chanda!!! She has woven a tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat and completely intrigued throughout!! Hahn touches on subjects not for the faint of heart but she handles them with care and discretion. So many twists and turns to keep you on your toes. I look forward to every book in the series because I know the adventure is going to be worth it. Aura’s story is not your typical Sleeping Beauty. As an empath, she bears the weight of the world. Her best coping method is to withdraw herself from others while she learns to own her power. Thrust into the outside world, her journey is grueling and filled with emotion as she grows so much throughout. A handsome stranger seeking the help of Lady Eville, Liam is ever the knight in shining armor that dreams are made of. Sworn to protect and serve, a true gentleman. Simply swoon worthy.

Each book in this collection I read I say ‘this is my favorite’. But this is by far my favorite. The pace and ‘adult’ themes of mental disorders and abuse bring light to what so many face, and this book handled each theme with such grace and compassion. Aura and Liam are such wonderful characters and their story and relationship is so ‘unique’ too in how they are with each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one.

I had my reservations about Aura from Meri's story but seeing the inner workings of Lady Eville's home and her relationship with each daughter and their relationship with one another was such a treat. I loved that in the first few chapters you really are privy to something you hadn't seen before. Lady Eville nailed it on the head stating that Aura's pure goodness is her strength not a weakness. There are so many relevant lessons I took away from this story and an incredible fast paced adventure that ensues. This truly is a story of coming into your own. What I love about this series is you can pick any one and it truly captures its own story. I can't wait to see which story we get a glimpse into next!
