Description

"A love story as passionate and intelligent as it is beautiful."- Alta Hensley, USA TODAY bestselling author

I've seen the way he looks at me.

The Captain. The unquestioned leader of this ship.

A ship I wish to be free of. A man I want to be as far away from as my legs might carry me.

The society he's designed, the rules, the endless battle of wills...

Yes, I've seen the way he looks at me.

I've felt his fingertips brush my skin. Heard his laugh. Experienced his smile.

One that's only for me, and only in secret.

And I know what he wants.

He told me himself that everyone has to pay; that all who survived the fall of civilization were culpable. That's how he justifies the decisions he's made, the necessary evils he allows to take place on this ship… all in the name of a greater good.

And it's why I resist the starved way his gaze drinks me down. Why I can't be had at any price.

SWALLOW IT DOWN is an angst-ridden, enemies to lovers romance, boasting a strong female lead and a swoon worthy hero. This standalone features an HEA that will keep you turning the page all night.

Another book by Addison I devoured in a matter of hours. Everything she writes is amazing! Even in three weeks, she is able to put complexities into her characters that are unparalleled in her genre. She is always the first author I search for when hopefully looking for a new release. This one was by far one of my favorites.

This author does not disappoint! Swallow it Down is a twisted post apocalyptic world that is deliciously sexy and dark. The heroine is a fighter and the villain a beast. Two very broken people that find each other in this dangerous new world. The connection between these two is electric and so well written. You can’t help but cheer them on as they face each hurdle. Such an unexpected ride that keeps you engaged and wanting more. The plot was unique and I liked the parallels to modern day life and what could happen in an alternate universe. It is a tormenting tale but so worth the read! Enjoy!

Addison Cain has been holding out on us! She is the Queen of the dark romance sub genre. This book was twisted, hit on a lot of modern issues, and makes me want a super sexy smart pirate of my own! The leading lady rocked her smart mouth with wit sharp enough to maim.

Awesome book set in a post apocalyptic dystopian world. Love the sassy heroine and her feisty refusal to be controlled and the sexy hero who finally wears her down.

Great character building. Lady Cain has hit another home run. This story is so deep on so many levels of people’s morals and values. It reminds me of a popular series. In the book the females are subjugated after the world is destroyed. Truly survival of the smart and brave when it comes to women. Even in a world torn apart there is justice and love. You looking for another great story in a future world? Check out this story.

I will never look at a baking sheet again in the same way. Like many others in this pandemic lockdown, sourdough starters or baking became the de rigeur of unstructured days and work from home environments. I thought I knew everything there was to the cookie sheet, but Addison simultaneously horrifies and delights as per her way. Post apocalyptic, and dystopian, and positively dissolute in every dark and sensuous manner, it's a vividly described world that hooks the reader with equal parts dread and hope. The first half is set up in a normal fashion, but it's only to until the end that the reader realizes they are uncovering a puzzle during real time as the female protagonist. And it's a wild ride from there on out, typical of the author's flair for style and self-reflection. I could not put this book down, and am left unsettled and pleased as punch days later.

Leave it to Addison to write a book that makes you say what did I just read? This book was so crazy, it messes with your head. This book had my head spinning from the beginning and had me biting my nails all the way through. Another great read by Addison.
