Fast read and thrilling!

So this is one of the first thriller books I’ve read so I don’t have a very wide frame of reference, but… I almost didn’t read this whole book. I had a really difficult time getting into it but I wanted to see it out until the end. Once things began to get a little more interesting, I could not put this book down. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the main character, though I was rooting for her. I think there was so much time wasted talking about her past and barely any information about her relationship with her husband. It also felt incredibly cheesy in some parts. I really never could guess what was going to happen next, so once I got though the boring stuff I was sucked in! Sooo many twists and turns. You really never know who to trust and I liked that. Overall I did enjoy reading this book. I thought that it was a thrilling story once you get past the first half.

It was so good i enjoyed everything leading up to the ending, the ending was to a little different but it was exciting and thrilling!

Simple read. Decent plot. It could be improved greatly with a lot more detail and imagination.

Yet another of Peter Swanson’s books that I adore. A fast-paced, well-written thriller that I finished in 24 hours. Strongly recommend!

I figured how what was going to happen in the beginning of this book. It was mehhh

Peter does a superb job in building tension throughout the book; this is a page turner worth reading. At first, Abigail is an ambivalent character …making a critical error in moral judgment before her marriage to Bruce made me feel unsympathetic with her ongoing dilemmas. Yet the story ends in a satisfying way that wins you over to Abigail.

I enjoy reading this author’s books, but this one was predictable. Was still surprised at the level of rot among the antagonists. Skipped about 100 pages and just read the last 10 pages. The term “nouveau riche” and stereotype of newly wealthy people lacking good taste and morals certainly apply to some characters in this book. To be so well educated, grounded, and experienced, Abigail seemed too gullible and dumb. When red flags appear daily, look out. If something seems too good to be true, it is.
