  • Escape to paradise this holiday season

We could all use a little escape to paradise this 2020 holiday season, and Mistletoe in Paradise will take you there. Not your typical Christmas novella with snow and gingerbread cookies - it’s a welcome relief to escape with Hannah and James to Christmas in the Caribbean. Hannah and James have a history, misunderstanding, and assumptions. Throw in a little family drama for both of them and this is more than the typical feel good quick novella. And while not long in pages, you won’t feel shorted on story. I enjoyed that there was more to the story than just a workaholic heroine and a lackadaisical world traveler. You won’t regret picking up this little dose of sunshine from Jill Shalvis. *ARC provided for honest review

Treat yourself with Jill Shalvis's new Holiday Novella. Mistletoe In Paradise encompasses my favorite tropes. Friends to lovers and second chances. James & Hannah have been friends since childhood and have loved each other since they were teenagers. Life and a painful loss pushed them away from each other, but this Christmas they are getting a second chance at love. This short novella has everything you crave in a great romance novel. Angst, Alpha, Humor and Heart! Loved this book!

Hannah Banfield is back on her step-dad’s boat to deliver her mom’s news. What was she thinking. Seeing James wall on board was the last thing she expected. James Webber has been running and now back on the boat he sees the one he let get away. I loved how these two realized what they truly needed was each other!

This was a cute, quick read to get into the Christmas mood via the sun and sand. This was a friends to lovers to not sure how to define it. Both Hannah and James have to have uncomfortable discussions with their parents on top of seeing each other for the first time in years. They have some unresolved issues that they need to address. If you’re in the mood for an easy read to get into the holiday spirit, you can’t go wrong with anything by Jill Shalvis.

I loved this second chance romance between Hannah and James. The setting and backstory were quite unique. Hannah also has a major hurt she has to share with her stepdad that plagues her on her Christmas journey. Hannah and James are both wounded souls that need to resolve issues for themselves before they can experience true happiness. I loved the ending of this 5 star read from Jill Shalvis.

I love reading novellas, because when written well, you get a full story in a fraction of the time. Leaving more time to read more books! Ms. Shalvis wrote a wonderful, fully satisfying story in Mistletoe in Paradise with a couple worth cheering for. Hannah and James pick up right where they left off, even as many years and many hurt feelings have come and gone. They both try to fight the attraction and in Hannah case, hold on to those old grudges, but whether it’s their forced proximity or the magic of the Caribbean waters, fate has another ending in mind for them. Great couple, great story and a great addition to not only my holiday reading but my catalogue of favorite Jill Shalvis books!
