Description

They want different things, but they just might need each other

Barrel racer Cheyenne Whitten returns to Wishing, Texas, after an injury, determined to recuperate and return to the rodeo circuit. But living with her over-protective mother only adds to Cheyenne’s problems. Desperate to move out and reclaim her independence, Cheyenne believes a service dog is the answer. That is, until she learns the waiting list for one is up to five years.

Having lost his fiancée two years ago, Cooper Abbott wants to run his veterinarian clinic and rebuild his life. A calm, stable, uneventful life. Then Cheyenne shows up asking for help getting a service dog, and Cooper finds he can’t refuse the feisty redhead.

Cheyenne and Cooper insist a relationship is the last thing they want. Cheyenne is focused on her health and returning to the rodeo. Cooper’s heart is still raw from loss. But it could be they’re exactly what each other needs.

To Tame a Texas Cowboy is book number three in the Wishing, Texas series by Julie Benson. This is Cheyenne Whitten and Cooper Abbott’s story. Cheyenne and Cooper team up together and agree on a business deal that will benefit both of them. Cooper is working on a SeizureReader and Cheyenne is suffering from seizures due to a benign brain tumor. As they work their feelings change but will the obstacles prevent them from finding true happiness? An emotional read that covers so many different struggles from medical issues to family issues. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This stand alone in the series, is a touching story. Cheyenne Whitten’s life has changed dramatically after she has to give up her career as a barrel racer due to developing seizures. Cooper Abbott, the new veterinarian in town is still not over losing his fiancee due to a brain tumor. But his promise to continue her efforts to help others with seizures is what brings these two together. Aside from the relationship between Cooper and Cheyenne, it’s a story about family dynamics and support or the lack thereof. Of how our childhood and past, does in fact affect us as adults. But also how love and support of someone that truly loves you and accepts you for whom you are, will help you conquer all obstacles. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing.
