If you plan on reading before bed this is not the book. I couldn’t put it down. You have to keep track of quite a few caricatures at first before they start to come together like an intricate web of horror and sadness. Leaves you hurting for all the pain these caricatures suffered.

This was a very sad story, one that we might repeat if women’ s right to choose is reversed. A terrible time in a woman’s life. Compounded by the cruelty of a religion that prays on human choices that are different than theirs. A good read with an ever twisting plot
Very Moving

I've read several historical fiction that have been thoroughly researched regarding the Magdalen houses in U.S., &U.K. I'm Catholic and it's unfortunately another chapter in our history to be horrified. Writing is very visual and fast moving. Can feel urgency & angst. Great job Ms. Ennis, I just bought " The Lost Child".
Astounding!

A tale that not only guides you along with the immaculate flow of storytelling involved, but truly gives you an eye opening experience. Feeling every word said as if you were the there! The flow the author has is perfection!
A heart wrenching story I couldn’t put down!

Such a well written heart wrenching story! I was intrigued and couldn’t put it down! It makes me think of all the young mothers forced to give their baby away.
Overall pretty good

The ending felt rushed and I am not totally sure I like the whole twin thing, but otherwise I really enjoyed this book
